What is top tool box for your DIY projects

Any handyman master should own some type of storage solution for all the tools and stuff required to make everyday jobs. Original tool sets packaging and even the best plastic cases break with time, sturdy storage container (article) that will keep your stuff organized. Finding the best tool box to fit your needs and tasks is very important, but with so many sizes and types available in the market it can be a daunting task. That’s where we come in, we’ll and present you how to choose right one for your consideration.

Not all tool boxes are made with wheels or, but they always improve the mobility of the solution. High-quality rubber on wheels helps to improve grip while dampening the noise. Box slides may use bearings or friction to work Non-bearing slides are largely unsophisticated, but they do have a definite price advantage. On the other hand, roller bearing ones are more efficient at opening and closing. But they are more tend to wear off, you should always go for those rated more than you want to place inside.

If your choice is a metal organizer, it is important to look what features will meet your expectations as a crafter. Here are a few of them: Drawers that provide organization of the tools in the box Latch hole for the locking of the box with a padlock when it is needed. High quality coating to protect the metal against scratches, dents and rust.

Unlike regular storage, you might need to carry tool box around often or move it from place to place and this can make it hard to buy the perfect toolbox (toolsglobe.com/workshop-layout/tool-box-you-really-need/). A small toolbox must be designed for easy transportation, it is likely that you will be bringing it from one place to another every now and then. Depending on your tasks, you can like smaller boxes, larger chests, or more complex designs stackable compartments. And finally storage space is very important feature of a good tool box, but that is only one of the starting points.

Very important feature is how the tool box comfortable carry and doesn’t it feel fragile? Brand name is not so strict sign, two box types of the same brand can be very different in quality. You pretty much “get what you pay” buying tool boxes, but there are exceptions to every rule. You should never give too much trust to customer reviews, rather draw your own conclusions.

Best drill press

If you need to join steel or copper tubes together, you can do it by soldering, welding or brazing, and sometimes it’s preferred or even required to do it mechanically. To create a mechanical connection on tubes flaring is used. Flaring is used to make gas-tight or liquid-tight joint, and this process means forming the end of a tube.

Double-lap flaring offers additional strength for tube ends, that are subjected to more fatigue and stress. The joint is designed so that the inside surface of the flare has a larger diameter so it does not interfere with flow characteristics of the system. To meet the same specifications as the Single Flare, Double-lap flaring can be formed in the same shapes - best drill press.

Single flaring is the most used and the simplest process of flaring The single flare is available in both 37 and 45 degrees. There are two ways to accomplish a flared tube end – rotary or spinning, and a ram forming the flared end.

To make sure that the jointof tubes using fitting will be leak-tight, you have to flare tubing properly using the proper tools and techniques. The first thing is cutting the right length of tubing with a proper tool. Secondly, don’t forget to slide the compression nut on a tubing The last step is to use a flaring tool kit to make a flaring itself.

Most of flaring kits are relatively inexpensive and easy to find, despite the fact that different sizes of tubes require specific sets of equipment. To cut a tube the special cutting tool is used. A flaring tool kit usually consists of two main pieces – a reamer and a flare form. A flare form is like a clamp with a number of holes used for various tube diameters. The tubing is firmly held by the flare form, allowing you to flare the pipe using minimum strength The thing that makes the actual flaring is reamer, which has holding arms, a screw, and a conical point.

My jump starter

My brother bought 800A Peak Jump Starter this device a couple months ago and one day a friend needed to jump start his car. He out this device and his friends gave him a look like “I don’t have time for this” and was blown away when he realized that you could jump start a car with such tiny device. After he told me this story I bought one for myself and I’m glad I did. I’m not sure whether to consider this an external battery for iPhone / Android or a super compact jump starter. My came with 79% battery on and I was able to charge multiple devices, dead easy to use like any external battery. My old regular jump starters take much space because they have long wires and the cheap bag they came with broke long time ago. I love that this device comes with a dedicated compact sturdy bag, it keeps the compact jump starter and all its accessories in one place and the bag is sturdy so it should last years with no issues. Couple notes: I thought the LCD screen was all scratched up but it turns out there was a piece of protective transparent plastic on top that you take off. The manual says you have to re-charge once every 3 months. I had to read the manual more than once, so here’s my brief guide for you: To turn on, slide switch to “ON”. Press Power button to read battery percentage and switch between Voltage. To turn on flashlight, press and hold Power button for 3 seconds; Press Power button again to switch between light modes. You can turn on the alternating red/orange lights (regular white flashlight must be off) by pressing the Power button twice, you need to practice to see how fast you have to press the buttons (double press the button not too quick, not too slow).

Flaring Tubes

Mechanical joint is sometimes required or preferred to join copper or steel tubes together, instead of brazing, soldering, or welding. If you connect tubes with a mechanical connection you need flaring. The process called flaring is a tube’s end forming, used for creating a gas- or liquid-tight connection.

The most common flare tube ends and corresponding flare fitting standards in use today are the 45-degree SAE style, and the 37-degree AN style, also used with the JIC system. For a given size, the AN/JIC style tubing generally has a higher pressure rating Due to the different flare angle SAE and AN/JIC connections are completely incompatible. The refrigeration and air conditioning industry usually uses 45° flare connections while hydraulic hoses are usually 37-1/2° flare connections. A copper tube used for propane, LP, or natural gas may use flared brass fittings of single 45°-flare type, according to NFPA 54/ANSI. Z223.1 National Fuel Gas Code. Nevertheless, all National Model Codes permit the use of flare fitting joints, the one should be consulted by the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) to determine acceptance for a specific application

I have made many different projects and I have learned engineering hands-on in a manner that colleges do not afford. Now, when I’ve got much experience, I became a member of the supportive community that I can rely on, a group of friends that I will foster my growth as a person and as an engineer.

I've made the tech blog and want to help and share my experience with the DIY-ers in welding and constructing.

Therefore, don’t hesitate to ask me any question, share your experience and even criticize me – I’m ready to have new experience and learn new things
